Here is the website for the Campaign for Real Ale. You might want to check out the Real Ale Festival in Chicago too.

I have harvested two deer to feed my family. They are hanging now, and I will need to butcher them soon. Venison is a healthy meat source. See Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon for some venison recipes.
I am enjoying the fresh milk so far. I should be receiving a box of different breads and bagels from the Alvarado Street Bakery soon. Their products are made from sprouted organic whole grain wheat.

I have found a local source of fresh milk! I will go to the dairy Friday to pick up milk. The cows are not injected with Posilac (bovine growth hormone). Go to the Real Milk website for more information on fresh milk

One article from the fall 2002 Wise Traditions magazine is far fetched, in my opinion. It is the article that tries to connect polio and pesticide use. I don't agree.
I am reading The Milk Book by William Campbell Douglass. It has been interesting so far. I will be looking for a source of fresh, unpasteurized milk.

Received my first copy of Wise Traditions today. It is very interesting and is the official publication of the Weston A. Price Foundation.

I ordered Azomite mineral powder today. This mineral supplement insures adequate macro- and trace-mineral ingestion.

I gave my copy of Nourishing Traditions to my wife this weekend for the first time and she agreed on many of the ideas!

I am learning much by reading Nourishing Traditions. I don't agree with their thoughts on the cause of Mad Cow Disease (bovine spongiform encephalopathy) and some of the statements on milk production (I am a veterinarian). I think Ms. Fallon should have sought opinions from dairy scientists and inforrmed experts on Mad Cow Disease. Overall I think there is much valuable information in the book. A source for cod liver oil is Radiant Life.
Welcome to this new blog! I will attempt to post items relating to grass fed beef and natural nutrition. I found out about these topics through The Stockman Grass Farmer and The Weston A. Price Foundation. I am also embarking on a personal health journey today by initiating a more healthy diet including cod liver oil capsules. My weight is 213 pounds. I will be adapting a more healthy diet as I learn through a course of reading and study. I am also reading the Sally Fallon book Nourishing Traditions published by New Trends Publishing, Inc. I will be trying to educate my wife and family as well as any interested readers. Wish me luck!
